Clientele examples
Just about anyone can use a virtual assistant – businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, executives,
students, nonprofits. The list is endless!
Small Business Owners
Oftentimes small business owners are overwhelmed with not only trying
to create and maintain relationships with customers, clients and
vendors, but are also busy trying to grow the organization. For these
folks, having a VA can help relieve some of the pressure.
Soloists
By their very nature, sole proprietors do it all. Marketing,
communications, sales, administrative, research, customer relationship
management, writing, editing, design... Soloists also face a unique
challenge in that they may not have the resources to hire an on-site or
on-staff employee. Perhaps they work out of their homes, or may not
want to tackle the responsibility that comes with permanent employees.
Having a VA is the perfect way to get the assistance they need.
Executives
In addition to leading a staff of employees, execs sometimes need
outside help meeting goals or pursuing new ideas. Depending on the
size of the organization, business process outsourcing isn't a new
concept. Virtual professionals not only help these executives meet their
goals and pursue new ideas, but work behind the scenes helping their
executive clients.
Managers
Department managers walk the line between leading a staff and directly
reporting to an executive. In addition to their day-to-day tasks, they
sometimes take on projects that mean late nights and weekends at the
office. Having a VA on their side to help with some of those projects can
mean more time for friends and families while also moving tasks forward.
Non-profits or Associations
Budget, budget, budget. These are the keywords for non-profits or
member-based associations. It's not unusual to find each member of the
organization's staff doing the work of two people. So, having a virtual
assistant will help information flow about important causes or keep
association members up-to-date on industry news.

On occasion, I'm asked to
clarify what, exactly, Rescue
Desk provides. I ask people to
think of it this way: If you had
an executive assistant, what
could that person do for you?
However, as much as I'd love
to be, I simply can't be
everything to everybody.
With my background, I
specialize in providing creative,
marketing, communications and
executive-level support --
writing, editing, research,
graphic design, project
management and support,
event-planning assistance,
vendor liason, etc.
About the only thing that's not
part of my service offering is
numbers -- accounting,
bookkeeping, budget support,
data analysis or interpretation,
etc.
Not that I'm not familiar with
these areas (I successfully
tackle it all for Rescue Desk!).
But I simply don't feel I have
the proper tools in place (yet!)
to offer it to clients.
