The Challenge/What Problem Were You Trying to Solve:

As the owner of a small firm, I was often caught between working in the business and working on the business. The more clients we signed on, the more frazzled I became, and some of the strategies we wanted to implement to continue growing were falling by the wayside.

I knew we needed help, but I also knew I didn’t want to add on-site permanent employees to our team.

Why Did You Choose Rescue Desk?

We knew what we needed help with – running our onboarding process for new clients, executing some of our marketing projects, and being “on call” to help with the details of any opportunities that arose. Because Rescue Desk has a team of people to support each client, they were able to bring a pretty wide skillset to the table – they could provide both the expertise in running business processes (which requires lot of attention to detail!) as well as creative skills to help us professionally pull together some of our marketing materials.

What Was the Onboarding Process Like?

I was a little nervous at first, as we’d never worked with a virtual assistant firm before and this was an important investment in our growth. But, they were great about walking us through what it meant to have them on retainer for a certain number of hours per month, teaching us how to prioritize projects so we could use our time with them most efficiently, and they were quick to provide lots of reassurance and guidance.

Rescue Desk has given us back some of our freedom, allowing us to focus on the things we need to focus on! In addition to relying on them for some of the tactical work we need completed, they’ve become an invaluable sounding board as we talk through future plans, goals and strategies. They have a deep understanding of what it means to be a small business, and genuinely want to see us succeed.

Not only that, but because we work in complementary industries, they’ve sent lots of referrals our way, too!

Final Thoughts/Comments

If two businesses could be BFFs, Rescue Desk and KBS would be! Yes, they’re professional and experienced and take their role as support staff seriously; but, just as importantly (at least to me!), is that they also have a culture of compassion and fun and laughter and a “We’re all in this together!” attitude. Being a small business owner isn’t easy, and I love having Rescue Desk in my corner.
